Drum and guitar lessons in the High Weald.

Lets Play.

I have enormous passion and commitment in inspiring young musicians to connect with the music within them and grow their confidence to perform as part of a team in a band.

My energy and enthusiasm for making music, be it on drums, guitar or saxophone is clearly infectious to the young people I teach.

My mission is to offer quality teaching that results in progress in learning in a friendly and creative setting.

We have thoroughly enjoyed Steve’s company, his professional manner and the wonderful interpersonal skills that he uses with his students to positively encourage the best from them

Introducing your instructor.

I’ve had great success with young people in primary and intermediate schools developing confidence with their instrument and enabling them to form bands and play their favourite music in assemblies.  I’ve taken my students to Battle of the Bands competitions and successfully won a national champions award.

I can be trusted to quickly develop a great rapport with the students and build a strong community of young musicians who can play and collaborate together. This includes children of all ages regardless of any disabilities or special needs. I have experience in successfully teaching music to children with physical disabilities and with behavioural challenges.

Playing drums and guitar has great health and wellbeing benefits

Drumming is a powerful combination of physical activity, music and four-limb coordination in an and enjoyable activity that’s not only a great workout, but it’s also a great for your child’s brain.

A study by the Royal College of Music found that drumming reduces depression by as much as 38% and anxiety by 20%. And Stanford University School of Medicine found that participants in weekly drum groups were less anxious, less distressed, and had a measurably higher self-esteem.

For kids having an outlet to cope with stress is increasingly important, and drumming is about the best one you can find. In one study, blood samples from participants who participated in an hour-long drumming session revealed a reversal in stress hormones, specifically cortisol.

Drumming isn’t just about using your arms – the whole body is working to produce the beat; It really is an intense, and multi muscle workout.
